Italian-born designer Nina Ricci founded her eponymous fashion label in 1932 with her son, Robert. He oversaw the business end; she was the house designer. The company released its first fragrance, Coeur Joie, in 1946, in a bottle designed by Lalique. The two design houses would continue collaborating for years to come. Puig acquired the label in 1998; today, it continues to create fashion in addition to men’s and women’s fragrances. Robert’s grandson, Romano, is also a perfume designer.
